Full Month Celebration

Celebrated Miley’s full month yesterday!

Hosted buffet for about 100 relatives and friends in the afternoon. Exhausted by end of day but happy that so many people came to share the joy with us! Thank you everyone for the thoughtful gifts and ang pows! The money will go to Miley’s bank account when she gets one soon! Only regret is that we didn’t manage to take a photo with everyone nor a picture of ourselves!

First Bath

This is not about Miley’s first bath but mummy’s first bath. RS finally had her first bath after 24 days when her hair started smelling odd. Hmmm… Since baby’s birth she has been cleaning herself with this lemongrass prescription specially for confinement that makes her smell like a tang yuan dessert each time she’s done, and a waterless shampoo spray for her hair. Worked pretty well for her until yesterday. Before the bath, she was a bit worried about baby not recognizing her smell anymore after she rubs off layers of dirt plus dead skin off her body! So silly right…. Ended up they cuddled to sleep last night like every other nights and the best thing is that daddy didn’t have to wake up at all! ;)

Daddy's role

Daddy may help carry the baby to sleep and changing the diapers but when it comes to hunger, daddy turns helpless.

I was changing her nappy half way when she started crying loudly. I had to carry her up to pacify her before putting on new diapers and before I know it, she pee on me!

Burp...

Burp…. Daddy is all ready to return to work today after 2 weeks of leave. Mummy was a little upset but Miley was smiling happily this morning! Hmm…

Birth Certificate

Registered for Miley’s birth certificate today and she got a beautiful registration number! For those who wants to buy 4D. ;)

Umbilical cord

Her umbilical cord fell off this morning before shower. Dated 11/11/11.

That’s Dr Chua Yang from A Clinic for Woman, the gyane who has been with us through 40 weeks of pregnancy, 12 hours of labour and the final c-section delivery to a healthy baby. This photo is for Miley to see who helped bring her to this world.

Bath Time

Baby Miley looking attentively at my mum when she gave her a bath this morning.

Didn’t sleep very well last night. Why do I constantly fear that the blanket will suffocate her even when she’s nicely wrapped up? Keep waking up at the slightest noise she make and when she’s quiet for too long.

So far so good

It has been about a day since we came home. Finally settling down a little better after the first day/night with a new member in the family. Was a little stressful yesterday cleaning the bottles, feeding, comforting her, fussing whether it’s too hot or too cold, till this morning’s sun tanning session and first bath. We welcomed two groups of visitors as well!

Baby is doing fine so far. Hope she will continue to sleep, feed, poop as usual and dun get too cranky tonight. :)

Visitors

We welcomed the first pair of visitors yesterday since baby Miley returned home. Thanks Aunty Wendy and Aunty Shu Yin for the tiny pink ballet shoes!

Days at the hospital

Mother and daughter bonding time in the super single deluxe ward that we just transferred to. We spend 2 nights there till Friday noon.

One of the super effort gifts - Confinement Cupcakes from Claudia and Munn. Her self created recipe that I must share!!!

The sticky quinteple ginger cupcakes has Lots of ginger! They have all the usual cupcake ingredients of butter, eggs, sugar etc but I added ground ginger, freshly grated ginger and preserved ginger into the batter then I topped it off with chopped candy ginger in ginger jam before frosting. Purple cream is cream cheese frosting and the baby pink is lemon frosting. :)

Baby Miley at 1 day 14 hours old. Sleeping cozily in mummy’s arm after breast feeding. Looks like a little girl that needs quite a bit of attention.

Big Thank You to everyone who had visited us in the last 3 days and all the lovely gifts for baby Miley and mummy. Mummy received lots of tonics that will probably last for a year or more! Maybe daddy will help to consume some. ;)

Our little bug… ready to go home!

Day of Delivery

Just arrived at Mt A. Waiting for examination by Dr Chua before admission. Saw 4 couples joining us shortly. The nurse say there’s a lot of babies on induction today and all wards are full!

Slept for 3 hours from 4am to 7am before the nurse came in for another contraction test. If all goes well, Dr Chua will be breaking her water bag at about 9am for labour to begin. Mummy is feeling alright with slight contractions but no major pain yet. She’s doing great!

Water bag has just been broken and mummy got her epidural started as well. Labour starts now!!!

If we go by the book of 1cm dilation per hour, labour will probably last till 5pm. Epidural may help quicken it a little by 15 mins per hour.

Mummy is feeling a little nauseous now due to the side effects of Epidural and is trying to get some sleep with classical music playing in the background. Daddy is sitting in a cranky armchair watching her from the side and attending to her needs. And updating our excited friends on tumblr of cos…
